Diamond Quality Technical Services is looking for an experienced Furniture Carpenter cum Painter URGENTLY to ensure the service ability of repair, maintain, prepare, paint and polish all joinery, wood work, furniture with the highest quality standards at all times.
Job Responsibilities
• Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation
• Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures
• Conduct repair work and installation of all kind of furniture (setting room, bedding rooms and other fixtures as required.
• Repairs furniture, doors windows, tables and cabinets. May also construct, assemble and install permanent structures, office partitions, door, cornices and counters, panels, walls and ceilings. Lays out and constructs forms, shuttering for new structures.
• Ensure that painted furniture meets quality and design standards. Mix and apply paint or finish to furniture pieces using various techniques.
• Experienced in working with colours, mix and matching, mixing ratio, surface preparation and quality finishing.
• Calculate the materials and time required for the project.
• Select appropriate materials, tools, and techniques for each furniture project, considering factors such as durability, cost-effectiveness, and design requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the design and production teams to ensure seamless execution of furniture designs, making necessary adjustments as needed.
• Cut, shape, assemble, and finish various wood and wood-based materials to create furniture components and complete pieces.
• Operate and maintain woodworking machinery and tools in a safe and efficient manner.
• Apply finishing techniques such as staining, painting, varnishing, and lacquering to enhance the visual appeal and durability of furniture items.
• Ensure precision and accuracy in measurements and joinery techniques to produce structurally sound and visually appealing furniture pieces.
• Implement quality control measures to identify and rectify any defects or imperfections in the final products before packing for delivery to customer.
• Dispose paint tins, drums, woodchips etc which are combustible in a safe manner.
• Ensure the area is clean after the completion of the job.
Key Requirement:
• Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
• Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
• Ability to paint and maintain the different types of furniture.
• Expert in various spray-painting tools and carpentry equipment.
• Can work under pressure
• Able to communicate in English
• Can join immediately.
