Overview

The role of a Driver for Delivery Van is crucial to our organization as they are responsible for ensuring timely and safe deliveries of goods to our customers. They play a key role in maintaining high customer satisfaction and preserving the integrity of our products. The driver will be the face of our company to our customers and must exhibit professionalism and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

Safely and timely deliver products to customers
Load and unload goods from the delivery van
Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules
Perform basic vehicle maintenance and ensure the delivery van is in good working condition
Verify delivery contents to ensure accuracy
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries
Handle cash and card payments upon delivery, if necessary
Report any accidents or vehicle issues to management
Maintain delivery records and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery
Assist in the warehouse with packing and preparing goods for delivery
Communicate with the dispatcher to update on delivery status
Adhere to safety standards and practices
Keep the delivery van clean and organized
Follow company policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

Valid driver's license (Mandatory) and clean driving record
Prior experience as a delivery or commercial driver preferred
Knowledge of local and regional traffic laws
Ability to lift and carry heavy items
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving abilities
Flexibility with work schedule, including weekends if required
Attention to detail and accuracy
Professional and friendly demeanor
Good understanding of GPS and navigation systems
